Joel Löwe

Biography

Joel Löwe (1762–1802) was a Jewish educator and teacher who contributed to the intellectual development of his community in late 18th-century Poland. Active during a formative period for Jewish education and cultural life, he dedicated himself to teaching and the transmission of knowledge.

Löwe's relatively brief life of forty years was marked by his commitment to education and community service. His burial at the Jewish cemetery in Wrocław reflects his place within the Jewish community of this important Silesian city, preserving his memory as an educator and cultural contributor to Polish-Jewish history.
