Biography

Johan Leonhard Fix (1735–1807) built a reputation as a reliable merchant, navigating European trade routes and contributing to the exchange of goods that sustained Copenhagen’s markets.

He also lent support to fellow merchants in times of difficulty, invested in the city’s warehouses and shipping infrastructure, and encouraged younger traders to adopt ethical practices; his life’s work is remembered near Assistens Cemetery.
