Biography
Johann Dub was an established member of the Brno Jewish community who lived through much of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth. His life reflected the experiences of Central European Jews during a period of modernization and change.
Dub lived from 1839 to 1918, witnessing nearly eight decades of European history including the upheaval of World War I. He was laid to rest in the Jewish cemetery in Brno, where his grave stands among the community's honored dead.
