Biography

Johann Rudolf, Count Chotek of Chotkow and Wognin (1748–1824), was a prominent Bohemian politician and nobleman who played an active role in the governance of the Habsburg lands. Born in the mid-18th century, he navigated the complex political transitions from the Holy Roman Empire through the Napoleonic period and into the post-war reorganization of Central Europe.

As a count and politician, Johann Rudolf represented the interests of the Bohemian nobility and participated in the administrative structures of the Habsburg state. He was interred in the Chapel of the Holy Cross, a burial site befitting his social status and political significance in Bohemian affairs.
