Biography
Johanna Steinberg was born in 1852 and lived as a member of the Brno Jewish community during the latter half of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth. She experienced the cultural and social life of Central European Jewry during a period of significant change.
Steinberg passed away in 1918 and was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Brno. Her sixty-six years of life connected earlier traditions with the modern era, and she remained part of the enduring Jewish heritage of the city.
