Biography
Born in 1898, Johannes Hoogendoorn matured into a man who valued honesty and compassion, traits that shaped his response to the invasion of his homeland. He believed in practical acts of courage.
Hoogendoorn joined resistance efforts, aiding in the protection of the vulnerable and the delivery of messages that helped sustain the movement. After his arrest, he was executed in 1944; his resting place in the Dutch Honorary Cemetery Bloemendaal remains a place of respect for his service.
