Biography

John Bass came of age in the aftermath of the nation’s great struggles, applying sharp judgment and simple kindness to the trials of daily life. Those around him knew him for his willingness to lend a hand and for the steadiness he brought to every task.

His memory lives in the stories of shared meals and faithful attendance at civic moments, and he is interred in Riverside Cemetery amid the hush of its trees.
