Biography
John Bingham (1815-1900) used his talents as a lawyer and congressman to defend the rights of the newly freed and give voice to principles that form the backbone of the Fourteenth Amendment.
After decades of public service he cherished the friendships of Cadiz, where he rests in Cadiz Union Cemetery, remembered for his integrity and tireless advocacy for equal protection.
