pioneer, frontiersman
Biography
John Bozeman left Georgia to seek opportunity out West, and in 1863 he carved the Bozeman Trail, a direct route to the rich gold fields of southwestern Montana that helped thousands of hopeful settlers make the journey more swiftly.
Though he fell victim to an ambush in Wyoming Territory, the trail that bears his name kept opening access to the Rockies and stands as a testimony to his daring frontier spirit.
