Biography
John Chapman lived through the tumultuous years of American independence and the early development of the nation. Born in the mid-eighteenth century, he witnessed the transformation of colonial society into a new republic and contributed to the growth of his community in Wrightstown.
Chapman's life of sixty years reflected the stability and continuity valued by the Quaker community of which he was a part. His final resting place in the Wrightstown Friends Meeting Cemetery stands as a testament to his faith and his connection to the religious community that shaped his life.
