John Christian Keener

Biography

John Christian Keener (1819-1906) served the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, with deep faith, rising to the episcopacy and guiding congregations through times of challenge with both conviction and compassion.

He comforted the ailing, encouraged the young, and nurtured the spiritual life of the region, leaving an enduring witness now remembered at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1.
