Biography

John Crimmin (1859–1945) practised the healing arts within the military at a time when the will to save soldiers under fire depended on swift judgement and tireless care, bringing steadiness of hand and calm reassurance to men facing the rigours of field service.

He later lent his experience to the community, sharing lessons from years of service so that the next generation of medical officers carried on the compassionate ethos he championed, and his resting place in Wells Cemetery remains a quiet witness to that lifelong commitment.
