Biography

John D. Magrath (1924-1945) served with the U.S. Army during World War II and displayed the highest gallantry in the advance across the Siegfried Line, for which he received the Medal of Honor posthumously. His courage, leadership, and refusal to leave a wounded comrade behind exemplified the finest traditions of his service.

Though he fell young, his memory endures among comrades and family, and he rests at Riverside Cemetery as a reminder of the sacrifice he made for freedom.
