Biography

John E. Carver lived during the early nineteenth century, a period of significant growth and change in America. He maintained connections to his community through his lifetime and was remembered as a resident of Philadelphia.

Carver's life spanned fifty-six years, witnessing the development of the young nation during its formative decades. He was laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery, one of the nation's earliest garden cemeteries.
