Biography

John Edward Keys was a British machine gunner who served with courage during the First World War. Born in 1888, he was trained in one of the war's most critical roles, operating the machine guns that were pivotal to trench warfare.

Keys made the ultimate sacrifice in 1916, falling in service to his country. His memory is honored at Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, a solemn reminder of the thousands of soldiers who gave their lives during the Great War.
