John Ely

Biography

John Ely was born in 1774 and lived for seventy-five years during a remarkable period of American history. His long life witnessed the Revolutionary War, the founding of the republic, and the early decades of national expansion and development.

He was interred at Coxsackie Village Cemetery, where he rests among the community members whose lives contributed to the region's enduring heritage.
