Biography

John Fane was born in 1775 and pursued a career in politics, serving his constituents and the nation during a transformative period in English history. As a politician, he engaged with the great questions and reforms of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

Fane lived to the age of seventy-five, passing away in 1850 after a lifetime of public service. He was interred in the Church of St Margaret at Lewknor, where his memory is preserved in the parish that he represented and served throughout his political career.
