John Gadsden

Biography

John Gadsden was born in 1787 into a family of prominence in Charleston, South Carolina. He came of age during a transformative period in American history and participated in the civic and commercial life of his distinguished community.

Gadsden lived a life of respectability and community engagement, passing away in 1831 at the age of forty-four. He was laid to rest at St. Philip's Episcopal Church Cemetery, where his memory is preserved among the notable figures of his generation.
