Biography
John Glasse (1742–1830) was a man of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries who witnessed the transformation of Britain from an agricultural to an industrial society. His long life of eighty-eight years spanned one of the most dynamic periods in English history.
Glasse was buried in St Mary's Churchyard in Burnham Westgate, where he remained part of his local community in death as he had been in life. His memory is preserved in the parish records and burial grounds of Norfolk.
