Biography

John H. Farley rose from modest beginnings to become a leading figure in Cleveland, serving twice as mayor and guiding the city through times of growth and change. His tenure was marked by a desire to improve municipal services, support civic institutions, and bring people together across neighborhoods.

After leaving public office, Farley remained a trusted voice in civic life, offering counsel on education and economic development until his death in 1922. He rests at Woodland Cemetery, a symbol of the deep connection he forged with the community he served so faithfully.
