John H. Sammis was a devoted Presbyterian minister and hymn writer whose compositions, including the beloved 'Trust and Obey', uplifted congregations across the nation and in Los Angeles. He balanced pastoral care with music and encouraged hearts to seek both faith and fellowship in a rapidly changing world.

He spent his final decades in California guiding local worshipers, mentoring new leaders, and sharing the hymns that long outlived him before being laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
