Biography

John James Piatt devoted his pen to capturing the quiet beauty of rural America, publishing lyrical verses that celebrated the changing seasons and heartfelt characters of the Midwest.

He kept writing and mentoring young poets through the decades, and when he passed in 1917 his friends remembered him with gratitude as he took his rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.
