John Lafferty lived through the Civil War era into the early 1900s, seeing Philadelphia grow and transform around him between 1842 and 1903.

Although his occupation remains unrecorded, John’s inclusion in Mount Moriah Cemetery reflects the esteem with which his family and friends regarded him.
