Biography
John MacVicar spent his life strengthening the economic and cultural framework of his community, earning respect as a thoughtful businessman who balanced financial prudence with a generous spirit. He took great care to mentor young professionals and to support enterprises that promised to enrich civic life.
Outside of business, MacVicar lent his time to charitable organizations and public improvements, believing that prosperity rested in part on how citizens cared for one another. When he passed in 1928, his family and friends gathered in Woodland Cemetery to honor a man whose steady hand had guided many.
