Biography

John Munro Sym spent his life in military service, rising through the ranks by combining leadership with a keen sense of responsibility toward the men and women in his charge. Colleagues remembered him for calm judgement and steady reassurance during trying times.

He died in 1919, and Dean Cemetery now holds the place where friends gather to reflect on a career dedicated to duty and to the peaceful lives that followed his command.
