Biography
John Parker Boyd, born in 1764, answered the call of the young republic and served as a military officer whose discipline and leadership comforted the communities he protected. He was known for treating his fellow soldiers with respect and for his belief in service that extended beyond the battlefield.
He died in 1830 and was interred near Old North Church, where visitors remember him as one of the officers who upheld the ideals of the nation he defended.
