Biography
John Sadleir (1833–1919) was a dedicated police officer who served in law enforcement throughout much of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth. His career in policing reflected the development of organized law enforcement in colonial and early twentieth-century Victoria.
Sadleir's commitment to maintaining public order and his service to the community were hallmarks of his long career. He was laid to rest at Brighton Cemetery, remembered as a devoted officer of the law.
