Biography

John Sangster Abel brought his chemical knowledge from Scotland to Chile, where he trained engineers, advised mining ventures, and worked to understand the country's rich mineral resources.

From his base in Tongoy he combined research with teaching, connecting coastal towns to the growing network of science and industry before his untimely death.
