John Smith Wright (1770–1848) was an English resident of Bulcote whose life spanned nearly eight decades of British history. Though limited records survive regarding the specifics of his occupation and achievements, he lived through one of the most transformative periods in English history, from the Industrial Revolution through the early Victorian era.

Wright's long life of 78 years placed him as a witness to profound changes in British society, economy, and culture.
