John Stanly

Biography

John Stanly (1774–1833) was a politician who served his community and state during the early decades of American independence. His career in public service reflected the civic engagement of educated men during the formative years of the republic, contributing to the development of American governance and law.

Stanly's fifty-nine years of life were devoted to political service and community leadership. He was interred in Cedar Grove Cemetery, where his memory is preserved as part of the historical legacy of American political figures from the early national period.
