John Sudam

Biography

John Sudam, born in 1782, came of age as the federal system matured, and he labored with a calm steadiness whether tending the land or assisting in local affairs. His neighbors appreciated his measured judgment and the way he blended hard work with respectful dialogue across generations.

When he passed in 1835, he was laid to rest in Sharp Burial Ground, leaving behind an example of the quiet dignity that strengthens any community.
