John Swift

Biography

John Swift, born in 1790, was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church and a guiding figure for his neighbors as the congregation sought to grow its presence in the village. He brought a practical spirit to his work, keeping civic affairs orderly and supporting the businesses that sustained the town.

He spent his later years strengthening the church’s outreach, mentoring young parishioners, and reminding all that shared faith and responsibility kept the community cohesive throughout the changing decades before his passing in 1873.
