John Tayler

Biography

John Tayler (1742–1829) was a long-lived resident of Albany whose life extended from the colonial period well into the nineteenth century. He witnessed the American Revolution, the founding of the nation, and the early decades of American independence.

Tayler's remarkable longevity allowed him to see profound transformations in American society and the development of Albany as a significant regional center. His burial at Albany Rural Cemetery reflects his family's prominence within the community and their enduring connection to the city's history.
