John Thomas

Biography

John Thomas (1813–1866) was a Welsh poet who contributed to the literary heritage of Wales during the nineteenth century. Based in Pontypridd, a town in the Rhondda Valley, he was part of the vibrant Welsh cultural tradition of his era.

Thomas's fifty-three-year life coincided with a period of significant industrial and social transformation in Wales. As a poet, he helped preserve and advance Welsh literary traditions during a time of rapid change, and his work remains part of the cultural legacy of nineteenth-century Wales.
