Biography
John Thomas Towers came of age during the early nineteenth century, a time of rapid change and development in the American republic. He established himself in Washington, D.C., where he became part of the growing community surrounding the nation's capital.
Towers lived for forty-six years, witnessing the maturation of American institutions and the expansion of federal authority. He was laid to rest in Congressional Cemetery, joining many other notable figures from Washington's early history.
