John Threlkeld belonged to the Revolutionary generation that shaped the early republic, offering his steadiness to the civic and religious life of his neighbors in the years that followed.

He passed in 1830 and was laid to rest in the Presbyterian Burying Ground, leaving survivors who valued his thoughtful counsel and commitment to the fledgling community.
