John Twiggs

Biography

John Twiggs earned distinction as a Georgia militia general, leading men in the Revolutionary War and in later conflicts to protect frontier settlements while also helping to organize the state's early government.

He guided the Twiggs Cemetery community with tales of courage, advocated for moderation, and inspired generations with his belief that service to others was the highest calling.
