Biography
John Walker (1731–1803) was a pioneering zoologist whose work contributed to the development of natural history in Scotland. He conducted extensive observations and studies of animal life, advancing scientific knowledge during a period of great intellectual ferment.
Walker was laid to rest at Canongate Kirkyard in Edinburgh, a cemetery that housed many of Scotland's notable figures. His contributions to zoology reflected the spirit of inquiry that characterized the Scottish Enlightenment.
