Biography
John Wesley Hillman embraced the frontier, venturing into the rugged West as a young explorer and offering one of the first recorded accounts of the shimmering Crater Lake while surveying in the Cascade Range.
He later made Baton Rouge his home, sharing his experiences and encouraging others to cherish the natural wonders he had once glimpsed, becoming a bridge between adventure and community life.
