John Wilkins, Jr.

Biography

John Wilkins, Jr. was a physician whose medical practice served his community during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Born in 1761, he pursued the healing arts at a time when medical knowledge was rapidly advancing and the profession was gaining greater recognition.

Wilkins lived to the age of fifty-five, dedicating his career to the health and welfare of those he served. His interment at Homewood Cemetery reflects the esteem in which he was held by his community and the respect due to his professional contributions.
