John William Showalter

Biography

John William Showalter (1844–1898) spent his life within the circles of Georgetown, and his resting place at Georgetown Cemetery invites reflection on the many lives woven into that community. His years spanned the Civil War era and the years of reconstruction and growth that followed.

He is commemorated with a respectful tribute to the quiet dignity he brought to the era.
