Biography

Jonathan Kinner was born in 1744 and lived through the American Revolution and the founding of the republic, witnessing the transformation of the colonies into an independent nation. He was engaged in the life of his community and participated in the affairs of his locality during a period of profound historical change.

Kinner lived a long life spanning ninety-four years, a remarkable span that allowed him to observe the development of the nation from its colonial origins through the early decades of the nineteenth century. He was laid to rest at Aspetuck Cemetery, where his memory endures as a link to the earliest days of American independence.
