Biography

Josef Beran was a Czech writer born in 1888 whose literary contributions enriched Czech culture during the early-to-mid twentieth century. His work reflected the intellectual and artistic developments of his era in Czechoslovak letters.

Beran's long life and career spanned from the late Austro-Hungarian period through the communist era. He passed away in 1969 and was laid to rest at St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, one of the most significant religious and cultural sites in Czech lands, honoring his contributions to Czech literature and culture.
