Biography

Josef Hlaváček was a Czech illustrator whose artistic career spanned the early-to-mid twentieth century. His work contributed to the visual culture of Czechoslovakia during a transformative period in the nation's history.

Hlaváček's illustrations reflected the artistic sensibilities of his era, and he remained active in his profession throughout his life. He was laid to rest at Olšany Cemetery in Prague, a final resting place that honors many of the nation's cultural figures.
