Biography
Josef Peterka was a Czech resident of Židenice who lived from 1894 to 1956. He witnessed the dramatic transformations of the twentieth century in his native Moravian region.
Peterka's long life encompassed the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the creation of Czechoslovakia, and the subsequent political changes that shaped Central Europe. He was buried in the Cemetery in Židenice, where his memory is preserved among the community he called home.
