Josef Stolařík (1896–1990) lived a remarkably long life spanning nearly a century of Czech and European history. He witnessed the transition from the Austro-Hungarian Empire through the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the interwar period, World War II, and the entire post-war era, finally seeing the approach of his nation's democratic transformation.
Stolařík's extraordinary longevity allowed him to serve as a living link between generations and historical periods. He was laid to rest in the Cemetery in Židenice, where he is remembered as a member of the generation that endured and shaped the most transformative century in Czech history.
