Biography

Josef Víšek (1853–1911) was a Czech politician who played an active role in the political life of the Czech lands during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His political career reflected the growing Czech national movement and the struggle for greater autonomy within the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Víšek's contributions to Czech political discourse and governance extended across several decades of significant historical change. Upon his death in 1911, he was interred in Olšany Cemetery, where he rests among other influential figures in Czech political and cultural history.
