Josefína Kounicová

Biography

Josefína Kounicová lived during a transformative period in Czech history, from 1881 to 1961. She witnessed the birth of Czechoslovakia and the dramatic changes that shaped the twentieth century, maintaining her presence in Brno society throughout these momentous times.

Her eighty years of life encompassed the cultural flowering of the early twentieth century and the resilience required to endure the subsequent decades of challenge and change. She is remembered at Malvazinky Cemetery, among the honored members of her generation.
