Biography

Joseph Aristide Landry studied law in Louisiana and answered the call to public service, representing his state in the U.S. House of Representatives where he advocated for ports, levees, and the agricultural economy.

After leaving Washington he returned to his native region, continuing his legal practice and supporting the schools and churches that bound his neighbors together, a commitment remembered at the Landry Tomb.
