Biography
Joseph Arkwright was a man of the late eighteenth and mid-nineteenth centuries who lived through a period of considerable social and economic change in England. His life reflected the experiences of his generation during the latter stages of the Industrial Revolution.
Born in 1791, Arkwright lived for seventy-three years and was laid to rest in Latton. Though details of his particular occupation or achievements remain modest in record, his life spanned a remarkable era of British history, and he left his mark on the community in which he resided.
